Only Murders in the Building has officially been given the release date for season three, and rest assured, our calendars are already marked.

Season three of the drama-comedy starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, which was greenlit shortly after season two, will hit Disney+ on 8 August, which is the same date as its US release on Hulu. And honestly, bring on another round of chaos and mystery!

With a release date confirmed, here's everything we know so far about the next instalment of Only Murders in the Building - which, just like the first two seasons, will be available for UK viewers on Disney+.

Gomez, Short, and Martin are all back. The true-crime-obsessed trio will reprise their roles as Arconia tenants Charles-Haden Savage (Martin), Mabel Mora (Gomez), and Oliver Putnam (Short). No word yet on whether season two stars Cara Delevingne (who shared a kiss onscreen with Gomez) or Nathan Lane will be returning.

Behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram show Steve Martin and Martin Short arm-in-arm with Gomez. “They immediately made me feel like I was a part of a trio.” she told People Magazine. “They're just the best. They are extremely humble and kind, and they just have a different human perspective on life than anyone I've ever met.”

Two of the true-crime fanatics are snapped celebrating as they exit the church, but Mabel doesn't look too sure as the three bundle into a yellow cab.

There'll also be a reappearance from Ben, played by Paul Rudd, and fans are speculating as to how Folger's demise will be revealed this season.

*Season two spoilers ahead*

There's another murder in the Arconia. The finale of the second season ends in yet another cliffhanger, as Ben (Paul Rudd) appears to die while performing in a play opposite Charles.

Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep are joining the cast. Speaking of Paul Rudd…the actor who plays Ben in the finale of season two, is also filming season three.

On January 17, Gomez shared a short video of the OMITB season three cast, which includes a surprise appearance from the one and only Meryl Streep.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams is also joining the show.

There are no signs of stopping. “Only Murders in the Building is the true crown jewel of our slate,” Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich said in a press release announcing the third season. “Its appeal across generations, the intersection of humour and heart, and its truly original approach are a hallmark of and testament to Dan, John, Steve, Marty, and Selena’s work. We are grateful to be able to continue telling the stories of Charles, Oliver and Mabel to viewers that have consistently shown us they crave more of this story.”

During the press tour for the show, Martin joked to Variety that they want to continue the show until they're old and grey: “Until I’m in a walker, that’s how long I’d like to do it.” Based on the looks of it, it doesn't seem that season three will be the show's last.
