Olivia Wilde's curtain bangs may be the look of the summer. May was the month of drastic new hairstyles and colours for a few celebrities. For instance: We spotted Quinta Brunson with a reddish tint to her hair, and Lucy Liu abandoned her long hair for a blunt bob. And so far, it's looking like June will be another month of revealing new looks. We started with Tia Mowry revealing her tapered pixie cut.

Now, Wilde has debuted her new fringe with a mirror selfie, posted to her Instagram Stories on June 6. "The 24 seconds in the morning before someone is screaming about wishing they were an only child," she wrote in the text that appeared above her head.

She was wearing a simple white tank and flexing her selfie-taking skills. The actor’s brown hair was swept into a ponytail, leaving her bangs out and a few wisps of longer pieces near her ears. The thick bangs were long enough to cover her eyebrows, but since they were parted slightly in the middle, you can still see her arches. With the longer sides and slight middle part, this lengthy fringe looks like curtain bangs. A hairstyle which has surged in popularity in recent years.

Though Wilde has played around with different lengths, she's been pretty loyal to long layers, loose waves, and a centre part for the better part of the last decade. In fact, the most recent long-term affair she had with a fringe was circa 2012/2013, when she had the swooping side bangs of every emo kid's dreams.

Wilde isn't the only celebrity to debut a fringe this year. Ariana Grande, Cara Delevingne, Mandy Moore, and Ryan Gosling are just a few famous folks who were recently spotted with bangs. Maybe 2023 is the year of the fringe.
